About the Journal

The Portuguese Rehabilitation Nursing Journal is owned by the Portuguese Rehabilitation Nurses Association (APER). Its content falls within the domain of Health Sciences, more specifically in the area of Rehabilitation Nursing.
Its main mission is to promote scientific knowledge in rehabilitation nursing through the dissemination of original articles of investigation, opinion or reflection on good practices, in which at least one of the authors is a Rehabilitation Nurse.
Its target population is health professionals, and in particular Nurses and Rehabilitation Nurses.

Objectives of the journal:

  1. Disseminate scientific knowledge produced in the specific context of rehabilitation nursing, reviewed by experts, with relevance to clinical practice, management, teaching and research;
  2. Promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge in rehabilitation nursing;
  3. Contribute to the scientific basis of diagnoses, interventions and results of rehabilitation nursing;
  4. Promote the development of research and teaching in the field of rehabilitation nursing;
  5. Promote the dissemination of knowledge in specific areas of rehabilitation nursing;
  6. Contribute to improving the quality of care for people with needs attended by rehabilitation nursing care;
  7. Disseminate scientific evidence on health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation of people with disabilities, activity limitation and participation restriction throughout the life cycle.

 

Areas of interest of the journal:

Health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration of people with disabilities, activity limitation and participation restriction throughout the life cycle;
Rehabilitation nursing assessment, diagnosis, interventions and results;
Information systems and quality indicators sensitive to rehabilitation nursing care;
Legislation applied to the context of the person with disabilities, activity limitation and participation restriction;
Clinical practice and research in rehabilitation nursing;
Ethics and development of good practices in rehabilitation nursing;
Rehabilitation care policies and organization.

Editor
The Portuguese Association of Rehabilitation Nurses is a non-profit association that aims to support, encourage and develop the differentiated care provided by nurses specializing in Rehabilitation Nursing. Its Statutes were published in the Diário da República, on December 20, 1978, and since its genesis, aimed at the promotion and development of the specialty of Rehabilitation Nursing; today, as in the beginning, this objective remains current and will be a commitment.

Frequency: Semiannual and special numbers that can be thematic or events.

Intellectual property: All content of the magazine is property of APER, the copyright being reserved to it. Authors are authorized to make their articles available in the repositories of their home institutions, provided that they always mention where they were published and in accordance with the Creative Commons license.
