Introduction: Patient satisfaction is nowadays an indicator of quality of care, influenced by multiple factors, including the practice of health professionals. Heart transplant patients experiences a complex transition process in which the rehabilitation nurse is an active and differentiated role, patient satisfaction with this care being an important focus of measurement. Thus, the aim is to understand the level of satisfaction with rehabilitation nursing care for heart transplants patients in phase 1 of cardiac rehabilitation.
Methodology: Descriptive study, with a non-probabilistic convenience sample. Questionnaire, QSEnf – 10 and demographic characterization were applied at the time of discharge from the heart transplant unit.
Results: 21 heart transplant patients responded, 71.43% men and 28.57% women, aged 50.71(±11.68) years and 16(±6.53) days of hospitalization. The average overall satisfaction was 38.3, corresponding to high levels of satisfaction. The aspect with the highest level of satisfaction was “Interpersonal relationships with you” and the lowest “Time that EEER dedicated to you”.
Discussion: Heart transplant patients in phase 1 of cardiac rehabilitation demonstrate high levels of satisfaction with rehabilitation nursing care, however the intervention time is an aspect that may reflect the need to readjust care resources or the development of other intervention modalities that can improve this aspect. The fact that there is little evidence produced in the area makes comparisons difficult.
Conclusion: The assessment of satisfaction with rehabilitation nursing care allows reflection and improvement of the quality of care and should be extended to different care contexts.
